Gratitude! In recent years, this word marked more importance in daily lives. Many self help books talk about gratefulness and it is the most underestimated phenomenal term! Lets take a look into it.
If you want to be happy most of the time in your life, then you need to be grateful. How does that happen?? Is there any magic behind it?
Yup., it is a magical compound to be adapted in everyone’s life to have a beautiful heart.💖💖
Grateful people never lived under the standards neither been unsuccessful. There is a famous quote saying, “It is not happy people who are grateful, only grateful people who are happy”. But, human mind always thinks the grass is greener on other side and try not to be grateful for the moment they live in. Wherever they stay, they say, “This is not the best place for me, I would be better if I am somewhere else”. People are continuously wandering for more comfortableness.
But they forget to realize the place where they are is the optimum right place for them. As we know, we had not decided the place where we were born, we had not even selected our own parents, they all happened at some right angle syncing with some natural cycle. So the place where you are now, the phase you are facing in life, what you are doing right now is gifted and scripted already. So being grateful for the things happening for you is the smart way to lead your life. From thanking for walking up early in the morning to all the organs working for you to the food you feed your stomach, say a HUGE THANKS.🙏 There are countless things to be grateful for every second.⏳
So, be grateful. grateful for meeting new ones, grateful for learning new things from them, it might be positive or negative, somehow its going to help you in further decisions you wanna take in your life.
I am exposed to this recent trending word GRATITUDE only through books, and I tried to learn more about it and wished to bring into my life by few practices which I discussed below.
PRAYER
From my childhood, people ask me, what would u pray for? I am confused whether to answer them or not. If I answer, I believe my prayers will not come true as per some superstitious beliefs. And I do not open my mouth for the latter question until my age 25 (because I ask for silly things to happen). After that, I stopped asking for things from God/Universe, I started saying thanks each day in prayer! Saying thanks for giving me a healthy, happy life surrounded with loved ones. And having the food which I wished to have immediately, having money to get enough nutritious food for my family etc., That’s how I pray, and my life became more happier and peaceful.
MONITORING THE SURROUNDINGS
When I travel, I see the labors who are working a day long for wages. This scene remind me of how grateful we are, to earn our money sitting under air conditioners. I see people who beg for money to fill their stomach. I see people who do not have good place to sleep. And I see some sleepless eyes who do their part time work before going to their full time job. Even I see few people with worn dresses too. They all remind me of how blessed we are as we are filling our necessary needs, getting adequate food and clean water.
KEEPING PERSONAL JOURNAL
I am not a person who daily document things in my journal. I prefer writing, whenever I cant vent out my emotions orally. Then, I write when I feel like I do, I list out the things I am grateful for.
For example, I will share my today’s gratitude letter with you.
1.I am more grateful to my mom, who took care of me when I am not feeling well without a little bit of hesitation.
2.I am grateful to my Kabilash who works for me hardly to keep me happy.
3.I am grateful for having a peace walk during sunset.
MEDITATION
I am not a professional meditator, but I do regularly. I start my meditation with all random thoughts jumping inside my mind, then after few deep breathes I make thanksgiving to all things happening, happened in my life, that’s how I incorporate my grateful exercise into meditation.
Thank you for reading my views on gratitude! Whole heartedly and gratefully, I value your time.
Feel free to annoy me anytime, anywhere,
